Kraków

Kraków is the second largest and one of the oldest cities in Poland. Situated on the Vistula River (Polish: Wisła) in the Lesser Poland region, the city dates back to the 7th century. Kraków has traditionally been one of the leading centers of Polish academic, cultural, and artistic life. These aspects of life determine the fact that Krakow is said to be the most beautiful city in Poland. Majority of artists in the past and now find here their inspiration and peace amongst numerous cathedrals, churches, lovely apartments standing side by side just on the edge of narrow roads. You would definitely fall in love in the city at first sight.

Main Theme

Folklore is a collection of folk art, as well as customs, rituals and legends. The old customs in Poland are passed down through generations. Many of them trace back to the heart of Malopolska - Krakow, the city of Polish kings, beautiful monuments and rich culture. This year, during the parties and attractions we would like to acquaint participants with the essence of Krakow’s tradition which is concluded in the folk art.

Places

Main Market Undergrounds is a tour through over 7 centuries of history of Krakow, you will be able to see, hear and even touch a history of this city. We invite you to visit museum located in main square undergrounds, modern technology and innovative education tours will provide you a taste of middle ages in central europe.

One of the reviews on TripAdvisor: "Rynek Underground is one of my favourite museums - interactive and innovative, yet historical at the same time. This is one of the best examples of integrating technology into such an environment, using motion sensors, holograms, 180 degree projections, and moving portraits (not unlike something out of Harry Potter) to educate visitors on medieval Krakow. The museum has also retained the archeological remains of the square's foundations and it is simply astounding to learn the entire main square was dug up for this purpose only within the last 10 years."

Auschwitz-Birkenau is the preserved, authentic Memorial consists of two parts of the former concentration camp: Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau. A guided visit makes it possible to understand this unique place more fully. This requires at least three and a half hours.
